What is a single tooth implant?
Three parts: a titanium implant that takes the place of the root, an abutment that connects it to the tooth, and a zirconia crown shaped and shaded to match the teeth beside it. Once healed it is brushed and flossed like any other tooth, it does not decay, and it keeps the jawbone under it alive. A bridge, by contrast, grinds down two healthy neighbours to hold a false tooth between them and leaves the bone under the gap to shrink.
How much does a single tooth implant cost in Yuba City?
Implant placement starts at $1,099. The abutment and the zirconia crown are quoted alongside it at the consultation, so you leave with one written total, not a surprise when the crown is fitted. Extractions, a bone graft in the socket or a temporary tooth are itemised only when your case needs them. Many PPO plans contribute toward the crown; we check before you commit. The full picture is on the pricing page.
What is the process?
- Free consultation. CT scan to measure the bone, a look at the neighbouring teeth and gum, and a written quote.
- Placement (about an hour). Local anaesthetic or IV sedation, your choice. The implant goes in on a printed guide made from the scan. If the tooth is still in, it is removed and the implant placed in the same visit when the socket allows.
- Same-day temporary for front teeth. Nobody walks out of Plumas Street with a gap in their smile. A temporary crown or a slim flipper covers the space while the bone heals.
- Healing (3–4 months). The bone bonds to the implant. Follow-ups are short.
- Final crown. A digital scan, then the custom zirconia crown is fitted and adjusted.
Implant vs bridge vs partial denture
| Single implant | Three-unit bridge | Partial denture | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neighbouring teeth | Untouched | Ground down for crowns | Clasps hooked onto them |
| Bone under the gap | Preserved | Shrinks | Shrinks |
| Comes out | No | No | Yes |
| Typical lifespan | Decades | 10–15 years | 5–7 years |
| Cleaning | Brush and floss normally | Threader floss under the bridge | Remove and soak |
| Cost over 20 years | Lowest | Often two bridges | Several partials |
Does a single implant hurt?
Placing one implant is easier on you than the extraction that came before it. The area is numbed (or you are sedated), the implant goes into bone that has few nerve endings, and most patients manage the day after with over-the-counter pain relief. Ice, soft foods and a gentle day are the usual instructions. The recovery page walks through the first two weeks.
Why have a single implant placed at an implant center?
Because the person placing it does this every day. Dr. Navjot Singh has placed more than 4,000+ implants; a single implant on a guide takes him under an hour and is planned on the scan so it lands in the right bone at the right angle for the crown. The lab work is done on Plumas Street, and your regular dentist, whether that is Plumas Family Dentistry next door or another office, gets the records. Frequently asked questions
How much is a single dental implant at Yuba City Implant Center?
Implant placement starts at $1,099. The abutment and zirconia crown are quoted alongside it in writing at the free consultation, so the total is known before you begin.
Can a single tooth implant be done the same day the tooth comes out?
Often, yes, when the socket is intact and there is no active infection. Front teeth usually also get a temporary crown the same day so there is no visible gap.
How long does a single tooth implant take from start to finish?
Usually three to four months: about an hour for placement, three months of healing, then the final crown.
Is a dental implant better than a bridge for one missing tooth?
For most people, yes. A bridge grinds down two healthy teeth and does nothing for the bone under the gap; an implant leaves the neighbours alone and preserves the bone. Over twenty years an implant usually costs less than the bridges it replaces.
Will the implant crown match my other teeth?
Yes. The zirconia crown is custom-shaded to the teeth beside it. Front teeth get extra attention to shape and translucency.
Do I need sedation for one implant?
No, local anaesthetic is enough for most patients. IV sedation is available if you would rather sleep through it.
“From the very first consultation the team was professional, patient and incredibly thorough. They took the time to explain the implant process step by step and made sure I felt comfortable and confident moving forward.”
